Orsmö enters service

Today is a historic day for us as Ormsö, the biggest ever car and passenger ferry built in Estonia, has entered service and took her first trip from Vormsi island to Rohuküla harbour in Estonian mainland.

The 45-metre double ended car and passenger ferry can carry total of 32 cars and 200 passengers. She is built according to RMRS KM*Arc4 (1) R3 AUT3 rules improving vastly the opportonities for those living in Vormsi but also for people visiting Vormsi all year round as ice-problems well familiar from the previous ferries should now be forgotten.

We are especially proud as Ormsö is powered by 2 x MTU 8V4000 M63 engines, each 1000 kW @ 1800 rpm, driving a pair of Rolls-Royce US 155 azimuth thrusters. We wish Ormsö and her crew safe seas!

Detailed datasheet of Ormsö can be found @ http://bwb.ee/upload/range_boat/290/datasheet.pdf
