Soela is the latest addition to Estonian ferry fleet

Soela, the last of 3 ice class ferries ordered by Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications from Baltic Workboats. Her sister ships Ormsö and Kihnu Virve were delivered in May and September 2015 respectively.

Like Ormsö and Kihnu Virve, Soela is also a 45-metre double ended car and passenger ferry that can carry total of 32 cars and 200 passengers. She is built according to RMRS KM*Arc4 (1) R3 AUT3 rules which means there should no longer be problems with ferry being stuck in ice.

Soela is powered by 2 x MTU 8V4000 M63 engines, each 1000 kW @ 1800 rpm, driving a pair of Rolls-Royce US 155 azimuth thrusters. We wish Soela and her crew safe seas!
